Rose noticed with some surprise that the person who passed in front of her just as she came out of a side street didn't look like they were really dressed for the weather - and they looked upset about something, rather than actually cold. "Excuse me," she called quietly. "Are you alright...?"

She didn't venture a "sir" or "miss" - she was having trouble deciding which one the person she was addressing was, even if she was much better at telling male and female humans apart after her time here.

Neku flinched a little bit as Rose spoke to her. She had been so absorbed in her thoughts that she didn't even realize that she was there. It took her a moment to realize where the words were coming from and she sighed softly.

"I'm just worried about my partner." She said simply.

Rose nodded sadly. "I can understand that. I've wondered often how my friends and family are doing while I'm here, too..."

"In the Game, you can't fight without a partner. It's impossible to use Psychs." She said, looking down at the pins that she wore. She hoped that Rhyme hadn't been erased by now because she was gone.

Striking up a conversation in the middle of the street wasn't a part of Simone's usual modus operandi. And yet she'd become more and more aware of how cut off she was from the rest of the compound. Given her particular talents, it made her less than useless except in very specific situations. Which, thankfully, did not seem to come up too commonly.

And so when she spied the - girl? boy? she wasn't sure which - younger Drafted glaring up at the Keepers, she veered over, frowning slightly in evident concern. "Are you all right? You look mad enough to set them on fire with your mind..." Which she wouldn't object to, really. Except that it would likely only make the things mad.

"I don't have the Pyroknesis pin with me. I can't do that." She said with a mix of sarcasm and sadness, the sadness showing more. She turned to Simone for a moment, blinking before partially hiding her face in the collar of her shirt.

Simone wondered briefly if she looked quite as baffled as she felt (the answer was yes, she did). "It's a figure of speech," she replied, though recollection of just where they were and what sort of oddities seemed almost a matter of course prompted her to add, "though I suppose it could be meant literally here..."

"It all depends on what pins I've got in my deck." She said. There was a pin that would allow her to create fire with her mind, but she didn't have it with her. She was trying to stop thinking about her Partner and how she might have failed her.
