Sirius nearly lost his footing and fell off the fire escape at the sudden sound. He looked around for its source, finally muttering a quick spell under his breath to clear the immediate air around him of fog.

There was a window, which he could only assume was where to sound had come from, but there was nobody in it. He shrugged to himself. Probably just somebody inside the building horsing around. Turning, he made to resume his descent.

It was hard to stifle the giggle, but Persephone managed. She waited a couple of moments until the sound of moving was resumed to knock once more, this time more loudly and with more force.

This time he was a bit more ready for it. He saw the flicker of movement in the cleared air as her hand rapped the glass and he leapt back up the couple of steps back to the adjacent landing.

"Hominum revelio!" He cried, not sure whether to be worried, annoyed, or amused.

Persephone had absolutely no idea what those words meant, but something was swooping around her. The girl let out a terrified yelp as she made to bat at her invisible attacker, instead smacking into the bookcase and ever so gracefully sending the tomes falling into her.
