Summary: Sarah comes back from getting her mind healed by Cobweb. Her roomie gets to meet the real her.

When in doubt, Sam read. It was an old habit, developed first over years of being the research monkey for his family, and then later honed by academics to a fine point. Thus he was settled on the couch, leafing through an old book scavenged from the library. He looked up when he heard the door open, then shut again, smiling a little when he spotted Sarah. The expression was warm, though it did not quite banish the shadows from his eyes, matched well by the circles painted beneath them by sleepless nights that were in all-too-ready supply of late. "Hey," he said, then after a few seconds hesitation continued. "Find anything interesting?"

Sarah's cheeks flushed a little and she hoped he took it as her cheeks being pink from the bite in the wind. She nodded slowly, slipping his coat off and moving to return it to the spot she'd taken it from. "Sorry I took your coat. I don't have anything to protect from the winter. And with the Indigeo not taking requests..." Sarah trailed off, walking over to the couch, sitting at the far end, bending over and untying her shoes, sliding them off and setting them beside the couch.

"Interesting...yes, you could say that," Sarah nodded, her dark locks sliding against her shoulders as she did.

"Don't worry about it," Sam replied, trying for a reassuring smile. "I don't mind sharing. Though hopefully it'll come back online before winter gets here..." He grimaced a little, the thought of having to make do with few supplies, especially if the compound was as far north as some theorized, making him uneasy.

He looked up sharply, canting his head in an oddly canine, thoughtful manner as he studied her. "Everything okay?" he asked, worry surfacing clearly through the miasma of weariness. Clear, too, was the protective edge his temperament had been honed to for the stretch of days since the cuffs went offline, freeing all manner of people to try all manner of things.

The corners of Sarah's mouth curled up in a small smile. "Okay, thank you," She nodded slowly. Lifting her hand, she raked her fingers through her hair, having forgotten the small drop of blood still on her bottom lip from Cobweb's magic.

Sarah turned to look at Sam, giving him a small smile, her eyes a clear green and she nodded. "Yeah, I'm okay. Great, even." There was something off about her tone and her appearance. She seemed...just how she said. She was okay.
