After being out on his own to try, however unsuccessfully, to figure things out, Siegfried at last gave up. He was no more productive pacing the plaza aimlessly than he would be at Pegasus's apartment. And at least the apartment had the added bonus of being somewhat protected from the various unhinged elements of Econtra.

As he entered the apartment, Siegfried's gaze automatically went straight to Pegasus. He tried to quell that wellspring of confusion that centered around this whole proposal notion, but it was rather hard when looking at the man he'd either proposed to or who had proposed to him. Siegfried did, at least, notice that the artist seemed busy. So rather than disturb Pegasus, Siegfried started angling for the bedroom. He would retrieve a book and curl up for some quiet.

Pegasus, of course, had been listening for the sound of someone arriving, so he looked up almost as soon as Siegfried entered the room.

"Oh, there you are," he said. "I was wondering when you'd show up. Did you have a nice walk?"

So Pegasus hadn't been as absorbed in his art as Siegfried had first thought. Siegfried promptly altered course to go sit beside the artist, keeping his expression as calm and unruffled as ever. Pegasus could tell Siegfried not to wear masks all he wanted, but Siegfried expected that he would always have a tendency to keep what he was feeling to himself. And that was especially so when Siegfried was a bundle of nerves and uncertainty.

"It went as well as can be expected. I encountered no ruffians with intent to cause harm," he answered.

"That's good," said Pegasus. He added a few lines to his sketch, but his mind didn't seem to be on his work. "I did some thinking while you were out."
