Morty looked confused when he suddenly smelled muffins in the middle of the park and came to the conclusion that they were growing on a nearby tree. "... Interesting. Are you doing that?" he asked the man leaning against it. He was fairly sure it had been a normal tree a few minutes ago.

Morty shook the proffered hand. "Nice to meet you. I'm Morty."

[takion]

Short for 'Mortimer,' Takion supposed, but he didn't press. It contented Takion enough just to know what to call this new acquaintance. "I trust you've been well enough during all of our recent upheaval. It's been quite a time, hasn't it?"

[cest_morty]

Surprisingly enough, it wasn't; "Morty" actually was his name. "About as well as anyone could expect." He tried very hard not to recall what had happened in the vision. It wasn't something he particularly wanted to remember.

Takion plucked a gumdrop from his flowers and chewed it thoughtfully. "It is good not to forget such things, but it is equally good not to dwell on them."

Morty nodded. "I suppose so. I'm not really used to wars, to be honest - my world's pretty peaceful."

[takion]

"And I've been safely tucked away in an imaginary world for so long that I do not know how to deal with the reality of war," Takion sighed.

Morty smiled slightly. "Looks like we have something in common, then."
