Persephone was too fascinated by what was going on with her hand for the question to first register, morbid curiosity written all over her face. The burns were gone thanks to the senshi, as was most of the pain, but Belldandy's energy blast had dented the trashcan lid the goddess had been using as a shield in such a way that her hand was now stuck between it and its handle.

You know, her day had actually been going pretty well up until this point and now? Now she had the embarrassing dilemma of prying her hand free from a trashcan lid. Not to mention that it was digging in and hurt.

Then the question sunk in and Persephone looked at Mercury flatly, holding up her trapped hand. Blood from it dripped to the carpet, blooming into asphodel though the goddess didn't seem to notice. "My life is wonderful."

Mercury's eyes widened and she quickly ran over, not caring about the blood so much as the lid pressed into her companion's hand. "I'm so sorry," she murmured, looking upset beyond belief as she took the trashcan lid in her hands, "Just give me a moment..." She took a break from mentally kicking herself to concentrate on freezing the part of the lid stuck to Persephone's hand. If she concentrated enough, she could freeze that area of the lid, then shatter it, freeing the goddess' hand. It was working, so far...

The ice was working, but darn it was cold. The goddess shivered, despite the sweater she was wearing, but uttered no complaint -- Mercury was helping and the faster Persephone got this thing off, the faster she could sit and brood and sulk over her defeat.

A few moments and a decisive crack later, the lid shattered, and Persephone's hand was free. "There," Mercury said, healing the place was the hand had been cut into, "I am so very sorry, goddess... I should have noticed sooner that you were trapped." She actually looked to be almost on her verge of tears.
