Characters: AU!Princess Mercury, OPEN Where: Nyi-Enas When: Shortly after this. Summary: Mercury decides to hold a little housewarming party for her section of Nyi-Enas. Warnings: None, really.
Erk peered into the room. "Oh, hello, Mercury. I thought you'd gone back to your room. Have you-" He stopped abruptly, registering that this person looked just slightly different from the Mercury he'd met before, and he was certain he'd never seen Mercury wear a dress like that.
He stepped inside. "My apologies, I mistook you for someone else. You must be our new roommate. My name is Erk."
Mercury stood as the man entered, giving a curtsy. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Erk" she greeted, "I am Princess Mercury. However, simply 'Mercury' will do fine." She smiled at his apology, shaking her head. "It is all right. It is easy to mistake me for my twin, since we share the same building." Not to mention that they indeed looked identical.
He nodded. "She stayed here for a little while, though I think the issues with her roommate have been resolved by now. Honestly, I half-suspected on first seeing her that she came from my own world. It's the hair; blue isn't quite so uncommon a hair color on Elibe as it is in most worlds."
Mercury noted his hair with a nod and a smile. "It's quite uncommon in my own world," she admitted, "I gained mine from my mother, the queen. My fellow senshi were all either brunette or blonde." She unconsciously fingered one of her blue locks as she spoke. "Actually," she admitted, tilting her head, "I never really thought about that till now..."
Mars - a Mars - arrived shortly after Princess Mercury had mentioned the party. It was a good idea; an excuse to get together. She'd put on a kimono for the sake of the slightly festive occasion, and done her hair up in a simple but elegant roll, quite the picture of a traditional Japanese girl of her present-life's era.
As soon as she was let in, Mars held up a small bundle.
"Tada!" She grinned as she handed it to her friend. Inside was a small assortment of tea blends, even a strong ginger-spiced tea.
Mercury smiled as her friend arrived, marveling at her outfit. "You look splendid, Mars," complimented the water senshi, taking the bundle. Upon opening it, her smile grew, and she set it aside to hug Mars. "Thank you," she said, "I greatly appreciate the gift." She then allowed the fire senshi to come inside, allowing her to see what Mercury had done. "I hope it's not too much," wondered the princess, tilting her head.
Mars glanced around the room, and assured her friend, "I think it looks good." The decorations were very typical for the water senshi.
"I'm a little jealous," she admitted, but she was still smiling and didn't quite seem to mean it. "I can't make things like that with fire. It wouldn't work."
She could, to a point, but it would be almost ridiculously dangerous; certainly irresponsible. Something or someone was bound to come into contact with it -- resulting in a fire or burn injuries. Maybe both.
Mercury frowned a bit. "That in unfortunate," she admitted, "Though... maybe you could contain some fire in a glass orb of sorts?" It was a suggestion, nothing more. "Would you like a snack?" she asked, motioning for a friend to have a seat wherever she liked.
Uryuu was a bit late, but he was in no way trying to fashionable. He'd spent a good portion of time looking through what he had to wear and found he was considerably lacking in the clothes department.
When he finally did arrive he was dressed in a plain shirt and tie, remnants of his old school uniform. He bowed at the door that was opened to him apologetically. "Excuse my lateness I, um...had some wardrobe problems."
Princess Mercury smiled, giving the young man a curtsy. "It is perfectly fine," she replied, stepping aside so he could enter, "There's no real structure to this event, anyway." She chuckled faintly as she brushed her bangs from her face, the blue symbol of her planet shining blue on her forehead. "Please, help yourself to some snacks. Make yourself at home!"
"Right, thank you." The dark haired boy smiled but still seemed completely out of his element as he stepped into the room. He glanced around approvingly at the decorations, then the books, and finally the harp.
Uryuu pushed his glasses up the bridge of his nose. "You really made things look homey Mercury-sama, it's quite beautiful."
Mercury blushed a bit. "Thank you," she replied with a smile, going over to straighten out one of the drapes that had wrinkled up, "I like being able to decorate my own space, even back home... My father kept telling me I could ask it to be done for me, but I always preferred a hands on approach." Judging from the hems and other things, it was clear Mercury could sew. Then again, she also had a few centuries of practice under her belt.
She knew the princess was having a small housewarming party, but there was already quite a few people here. In truth, she hadn't expected that many people to head over. It was nice to see so many people here.
The fire senshi peeked into Mercury's room before heading in fully. She'd seek out the Mercurian princess, waiting until she was done with her conversations before speaking up. "Mercury. You've done wonders with your room."
Mercury blinked, then smiled as her roommate came in. "Hello, Mars," she greeted as she approached, "Oh, thank you... I do think it feels quite a bit more like home, now. At least for me." She chuckled. "Ah, I didn't expect so many people to come over..." She tried to look apologetic, but she couldn't keep the smile off her face; she was happy so many people come to see her. Not being selfish, no, but a sense of belonging, of being included. Even in the past, the water senshi had issues with that.
