Light was dressed in his usual beige shirt with red power tie he had essentially died in. Only an hour prior had he suffered a heart attack at the hands of that accursed shinigami Ryuuk, hit the concrete pretty hard, and awoke in front of the Warden with a bloody nose. It of course had stopped bleeding, but that didn't make Light any happier.

And that Warden character was rather shady. Light didn't like him at all, especially this 'You're chosen' bs. And whatever this was on his wrist. Such a hindrance.

Anyway. Back to reality.

Light wasn't too familiar with this place yet, but the church was rather easy to pick out. And that's where he found himself.

Mikami saw the name floating in the air just before he saw him. It was indeed, Yagami Light - his Kami, or so he hoped. I must question him, learn if he is from my world. And if he is, me may wonder what my staff is, as magic does not exist in our world as it does here. Mikami cast a protection spell on himself - just in case. He edged his way partially out of the shadow, so somebody could vaguely make out whom it was, and said "Yagami Light."

Light turned to meet the half-shadowed figure. This was indeed Mikami. Perfect. Light finally had an ally here. He noted a staff in Mikami's hand, that would make for some conversation later. "Mikami."

Mikami stepped out of the light, staff in hand. "What do you remember from our world? And can you explain why you betrayed me in the Warehouse?" He felt no need to waste time with idle chit chat, when it could only give him a chance to potentially manipulate him. No. He realized what Tsuki did, and he would not give Light the same chance. As much as he wanted to ask for what to do - he would ensure that Light could be trusted. And the first step is for him to explain himself. He calmed his emotions by running his energy through the staff, and he began to hear a light chime of bells from it.
