[Thread] Warden's Orientation [ALL]

Apr 23, 2007 14:05

The arena area is large and open, with a floor made of a hard, rubber-like substance. There are no windows, only a high ceiling and wide doors which admit those who have been ordered here. People file in, one or two at a time, first a dozen and then another until all of those who have been abandoned in this place are present. At the far end of the ( Read more... )

One elegant eyebrow quirks slightly in question. "Then what exactly is my role in all of this?" Lara asks, shifting her weight slightly and putting one hand on her hip. "I'm an archaeologist; how in the world could my talents be used in what is basically a war situation?"

And if it's to be the requisite T&A that some blokes enjoy I may hurt someone, she adds to herself.

"I'm going to have to ask the same thing she did." Steiner glanced at the woman. "Some of us have no particularly special skills. Of what use could we be in this?"

"It doesn't look like these Entropi things are women anyway... Whatever could I do to them?" he muttered himself.

"Each of your talents has been deemed either beneficial or necessary by the Indigeo program. As was previously said, not all of your have been chosen specifically for combat."

Bakura was not happy, he was about to give in to sleep and this bastard had to call a meeting. He leaned against the back wall of the room, glaring his hardest at the Warden with dark circled eyes. “This world is two steps from being hell sent and all you can give us is pretty coloured words and half ass information? Don’t owe us the details? We’re your damn army!” he snarled out in rage. “Here’s info you for; I don’t give a damn about this place!”

The Warden gazed cooly at Bakura. "If it were up to the creators of this place, you would be locked in your individual rooms at all times, fed and washed on a conveyor belt until we are ready to ship you somewhere. Your moral outrage aside, we don't owe you any information at all. I am doing this as a courtesy."

"You're telling us that ..." Luke said slowly, frowning and crossing his arms over his chest, "and yet then expecting that we'd still fight for you. Cute."

Light made his way to stand next to Luke. While he strained to remain more tactful, Luke had said exactly what had been on his mind.

"Sir, I can understand your frustration. There are going to be a lot of tempers flaring here, and if you are represting the 'creators of this place', you are still the only real face we know, and you are going to get personally attacked."

"Please don't make the mistake of taking it personally, though. If you threaten us, again, you'll get a robot army -- absolutely useless at best or destructive at worst. This, let me emphasize, is not a threat on my part. But from what I have seen and heard, it seems like a logical extension, if this comes to personal attacks..."

"Please don't let it come to that."

Dist really didn't care about any of that. His eyes were on one specific person as he loudly asked, "Can I room with Jade Curtiss? ♥"

...and that would be Lara's roommate now. She managed to not smack herself in the forehead on that one, but she did mutter "idiot" under her breath.

"Your rooms are preassigned," is all the Warden replies.

Peppita just stared at the Warden for a moment, unsure of what to ask, "I don't really understand some of what you're saying as much as I want to but... Did you really have to pull all of us here without even asking first? That wasn't very nice!"

There! That was a good question.

"Unfortunelty, it was deemed necessary. We realize that you are not all appreciative of this gesture."

Ashton was late. He knew this because his cuff very kindly reminded him. Or rather, painfully. He quickly spotted Peppita and joined her, frowning softly as he listened to the Warden.

"This place is pretty strict, isn't it? Mind control and kidnapping and all that?" he whispered to her. His dragons growled softly at the Warden and Ashton quickly threw his cloak over their heads. He really didn't want this guy mad at him. His luck was bad enough as it was.

Peppita had been paying attention to the Warden and barely noticed Ashton sidle up next to her until he spoke.

"Yeah... waaay strict," she pouted "I don't like it one bit. I don't know how they want us to help them if they're gonna act like this."

"Hey, I've been meaning to ask you?" she said upon noticing him cover the dragons. "What's up with those dragons on your back?"

Roxas blinked rather dumbly at the Warden once he'd finished his speech. Compared to everyone else, however, he was silent, a slight frown forming over his eyes. Roxas had no idea what to say... nor, exactly, what to feel.

He wasn't even concerned about himself, anymore. Scratching idly at his nose, Roxas decided in the end to make an attempt at asking a question. "... What makes you think we can defeat the enemy, if your own people can't?"

"By now you've no doubt noticed your companions are not of the usual brand. Many of them have displayed unusual characteristics. Because the Entropi are... what they are... we feel it was best to gather the most diversified lot possible."
