Sam was lost in thought as he made his way into the library, his posture conveying careful distance, hands in his pockets, head down, expression vague and solemn. It was the humming that indicated someone else was there, and he drew his attention away from the path his mind had been chasing down, gaze rising to seek out the library's other occupant. It took him a moment to spot the woman in the stacks, and he smiled slightly, the expression friendly and faintly sympathetic. "School out for summer?" he asked by way of greeting, unconsciously pitching his voice lower than its typical volume. He'd spent long enough entrenched in academia that some habits had stuck.

Willow heard the murmured words and her heart jumped, not expecting anyone to sneak up on her. She turned and nearly lost the entire stack of books in her arm, but only lost the top three. "Forever, really. At least until I get sent back home. Whenever that'll be," She said with a chuckle, crouching to grab the fallen books, but trying to keep the stack in her arms from falling.

Sam's hands came up as she startled, palms open and facing forward, the universal signal for 'it's safe'. "Sorry. Didn't realize anyone was here, or I'd have made more noise. Here, let me get those." He knelt to retrieve the books without waiting for a response, reasoning that he, at least, had no armful to keep from capsizing. Besides, it was his fault they'd fallen.

His gaze trailed idly over the covers before he looked up at Willow, smile turning just a little wry. "Guess the song really does apply, doesn't it?"

Willow hugged the other books to her chest as he knelt down then smile. "It really does," she says with a giggle. "Reminds me of my high school. Got blown up on graduation. School really was out forever. Thank goddess, we'd graduated already."

Deidara allowed himself an irritated sigh as he entered the library. It was annoying enough not to be able to freely make his explosions here in Econtra, and now, he had to search out recipes for less dangerous ballistics if he was going to make any of his explosions, or his art, at all.

What a load that is, un! the blonde grumbled to himself, unconsciously stopping in his search for any sort of book on ballistic sciences. Besides... It's been forever since I've even tried to make a smoke bomb... If that even counts as an explosion... He glared at a pile of books on the floor, then sighed again and glanced around, hoping to see someone who might be more familiar with this place than he.

When he caught sight of some movement behind a bookshelf, he moved toward it, and called out an, "Hey, anyone there, un?"

Willow heard someone speak, asking if anyone was there. A handful of books pinned beneath her ribcage, she leaned out to see who it was. "Uh, yeah. Me. Hi," She said with a small smile and a nod. "Didn't startle you, did I?"

"No, you didn't." He eyed the books the girl was clutching, then looked up at her face. She had green eyes and red hair, which contrasted greatly with her skin. She seemed to be about his age, and they were almost the same height. Deidara continued speaking to ask awkwardly, "Uh... D'ya want some help with those?"

She flashed him a sweet smile and shook her head. "Thank you, but no. I'm fine. Gotta keep myself busy between attacks somehow. Figured I'd try my hand at doing the whole librarian thing." She shifted the books in her arms, freeing one of her hands to extend towards him. "I'm Willow."
