"I think we're safe in here," Kir said, popping up from behind the desk.

He'd arrived first, having been able to fly until Kazooie. He perched on the desk itself and glanced around.

"King of a dump, though, but it beats the alternative..."

Kazooie jumped in surprise and dashed back out the door, poking her head in with a wide eyed stare until she realized who it was, suddenly looking indignant. "Geeze luh-weeze, Kir!" She stepped back inside, huffing and ruffling her feathers a bit.

"Yeah...I'm surrounded, they're all so loud!"

Kir laughed when he frightened her and ruffled his feathers at her in return. "Sorry, I didn't realize you were so jumpy."

Kir then scowled at that. "I was in the room with Jing an' Cassis when Jing got affected. How do you think I feel?"

"I-I'm not jumpy!! I thought the place was empty, that's all!" Kazooie replied, sticking her beak in the air proudly.

"I thought you said--" It took her a moment to process before she comprehended. "....ooooh. Ouch."
