Of course there was a simple explanation for what they were doing, and why Axel was even there in the first place. Since his arrival two weeks before, Ven had done almost all he could to avoid both Axel and Terra, if only to figure out what he was going to do. Axel's arrival was not unexpected, but certainly a surprise. And with how angry he had been towards Roxas...well...he didn't want to make anything worse. And why avoid Terra? That was pretty simple to explain as well. Keeping around the older warrior would force out unwanted questions about Axel. He had an uncanny feeling that the Chaser had been there during their argument

He needed to know. Axel couldn't just sit around wondering if Roxas was really Roxas, or if he was just some copy made to play in someone else's world. Axel knew all about puppets and replicas and virtual worlds, virtual people, and...he just needed to know that this was his friend, and not just a shell full of memories that weren't even his.

So he'd decided to Roxas, try to figure things out, ask him things only the real Roxas would know, but still, it got them nowhere. There was always that uncertainty, an answer worded in such a way that left room for suspicion and no suspicion at all. No matter what, they still came to the same question, and Roxas' answer never changed.

It didn't matter if Roxas was telling the truth; Axel didn't want to believe it. How could he not be his Roxas? But..but then, why would their pasts be different? The pieces fit, but only if you forced them...

Terra stopped right in front of the door marked Epta and pressed his hand up against it. He had to focus and keep himself under control. As much as he wanted to rush in and lay into the man that was probably taking advantage of his innocent friend, he knew there was a very fine line he had to walk with his attacks thanks to the cuff. There were a lot of things he could get away with- he knew that much from experience and practice- but one strike too hard or one strike too many would result in a pesky twinge on his wrist. Or he’d be knocked off his feet right in front of the jerk that likely had his hands all over Ven right now
