[ENDGAME] Stage 4; Allegory

Mar 18, 2009 10:35

The clouds dissipate, and only then do the people below realize that they had never been clouds, by the ashen offal generated by so many bioelectrical creatures in the sky. The atmosphere is a seething, crackling mass of solid Entropi. They bump into one another, passing through and generating wide arcs of lightning, seeming like the whole racial ( Read more... )

She couldn't feel the Entropi like she normally would have, so when they descended it was a shock. Gaz was with Keiji at the time, but neither of them could have seen this coming. One minute they're talking normally, the next a big jelly carcass is crashing down on you. Gaz was shocked enough not to move closer to Keiji, and she seemed to see him shrinking away ( ... )

Gaz was silent. Yuuko was displeased with her, and that actually hurt her more than anything. Hadn't she did everything she could to change? Had she really started to not care about anyone but herself, and only protecting herself? It was an unpleasant thought, and Gaz felt burdened by it. Maybe she didn't deserve her powers. What did they mean if she was still doing nothing but running in circles?

At least, that was what it seemed like now. Yuuko stared back at her, ready to render judgment, and she could forget everything, just go back to sticking to her game slave. All of that crap about Dark and everyone in Econtra would be over. She wouldn't need to be plagued by the pain of feeling like she shouldn't be content. She could just be.

Pfft. Fuck that."What kind of choice is that?" Gaz asked. "Choose between the people I've met and cared about here in favor of comfort? Come on. You think you could make a better Yuuko than that. But I know the deal. The whole showdown and all of that. All the better anyway. It would suck if I wasn't ( ... )

Hiiragi stared across the ruined compound at Andulvar, and her breath caught in her throat. She hadn't believed she would ever see him again. Now, though, she wasn't sure she wanted to see him. He watched her with murder in his eye and a bladed fighting stick in his hands. Whatever had brought them to this juncture, this was to be no practice session ( ... )

Sawyer's Hallucination packratsawyer March 19 2009, 15:20:54 UTC
Sawyer blinked his blue eyes a few times, squinting against the light as they adjusted. He sat up stiffly, rubbing his head and taking a deep breath as he tried to get his bearings. He didn't know where he was, and somehow couldn't seem to get a real clear picture of his surroundings. They seemed nice enough, though ( ... )

The Entropi came. It was an inevitability, and her powers of being a demon counted for little here. All that was sure was that she would be a sitting duck if there wasn;t something she could do. Of course, she couldn't run for shelter or even fight at this point ( ... )

Faye's Pretentious Title - 1/2 lady_bounty March 19 2009, 16:49:10 UTC
Faye groaned and opened her eyes. For a second she thought she'd gone deaf, but then she moved and heard her own small sounds. No, it was just the normally busy compound was unnaturally quiet. Faye pushed herself up until she was kneeling, hunched over in the entrance of her tunnel, frowning as she pondered the eerie hush. She tried to reach out with her new-found power, not realizing it was gone; regardless, she caught no thoughts with her mind's grasp.

Faye climbed out of her tunnel, shaking her head to clear away the cobwebs, trying to piece together how she had come to be there. She'd been outside, hovering near the door of Building One, anxiously watching the sky and smoking a cigarette. The strange clouds had cleared, revealing a sky seething with Entropi. Faye had sprinted for her room, barely making it to the entrance of her tunnel before... a jarring sensation, almost like a physical blow, and then... she'd been enveloped in an indescribable tactile experience, pliant, smothering, electric... and that soundShe shook ( ... )

Faye could feel the despair clawing at her, trying to pull her under, but she fought it. Move forward, Faye. Like hell you're going to give up now, after everything you've been through. You're still alive, aren't you? So keeping moving.Taking a deep breath, Faye ran over her options again. No matter what she did, her chances of dying were pretty high. But her best chance was to look for people. Even if she died of thirst or starvation or exposure in a few days, at least she'd be trying ( ... )
