[MODPLOT; WAR GAMES] STAGE 2

Jan 15, 2009 09:58

The Keepers were angry now, as angry as supposedly emotionless beings could be. They had not been able to corner the Indigeo, and it had not responded to their demands. They could not comprehend this level of dissension. It confused them as much as the chaos caused by the rogue Entropi which had broken from their ranks, attacked them and then ( Read more... )

The redheaded witch had been lucky enough to not have been injured by the Keepers or the debris that fell from their erratic flight patterns. Willow's heartbeat roared in her ears and she swallowed hard, green eyes wide. Had to find someplace safe. Secure. One would hope underground. The school didn't have a basement, but Willow knew that the church did. She'd heard people mention it on the PDAs. At least, she hoped she'd remembered correctly.

Willow, bundled up against the cold, exited the school. The icy winds whipped at her hair and she hunched her shoulders, trying to protect her poor ears as she started up the street as quick as she could without falling.

It had not taken long to empty the clinic as people fled, seeking shelter and cover from him. Face as blank as a stage mask, the Warden strode unflinchingly through the frigid cold, white nimbi of energy encasing both hands, from which he flung bolts of lightning as an athlete might hurl a javelin.

A quick spot of motion caught his eye, and he turned towards it, responding more to the movement itself. Two bolts shot in quick succession at the target, streaking through the air.

The electricity crackled in the air and the redhead saw light out of the corner of her eye and turned her head, gasping sharply as the world seemed to slow. Power of her own surged through the witch and she barked "Tego!" A nearby door tears off its hinges, whipping through the air to fly in front of Willow just in the nick of time, absorbing the impact from the bolts, shattering.

She noticed him, green eyes widening once more as she took a step back. She hadn't seen the man since she'd been brought to Econtra for the first time. "Warden...." Willow whispered, summoning up more power from her reserves, seeing how that unnatural glow filled his eyes and covered his hands. "Oh, this can't be good..." Willow sighed, shaking her head.

The Warden paused, head tilted in a bizarrely birdlike manner, as though the intervening door was something that had to be processed and further attacks could not proceed until that had completed. For a long moment he stood motionless. One could almost hear the gears clicking. It seemed the Keepers were not entirely used to acting through a vessel.

Rose was scurrying away from the clinic, having barely dodged one of the Warden's bolts. I have to warn someone...

She looked for someone she knew. Kragok, Quatre, Wufei... At this point she would have been willing to try to deal with Phanan if she could find him.

Kragok had been on his way to find Rose, wandering the compound ever since the Keepers went on their curious rampage through the complex. He felt twinges of pain with every moment. His magnetic barrier had kept them just away, but it had sadly drawn several tendrils in toward him, and all over his body were still-smoking marks where the Keepers had grazed him. He had even felt one of the appendages pass around his collar like an electrified noose. Without looking in a mirror, he had no idea how that injury looked, but the others were black, smoldering patches of damage across his body. Only his cybernetics and intense will kept him standing.

When he saw Rose, however, any little concern he had for himself fled. Hobbling to her, he reached out his burned, normal hand, grasping her shoulder. "Rose," he rasped out, "are you all right?"

The warning she'd intended to give fled from her mind as she saw Kragok. "Grandmaster! What happened to you?"

"I thought we... went over this," Kragok said with a weak laugh. "There's no need to use... my title. And as for this... I've had worse. Keepers... got... lucky. That's all." Speaking took effort, he found. Only belatedly did he realize that breathing all the smoke from his charred robes and skin was probably burning his lungs as well.

Dick was perched on the top of Om's Rooftop once more after getting those who needed to safety. It was a blessing in his mind not to be taken lightly that he'd stayed pretty much uningured despite the keeper's earattic movements. Although Now that the Keeper's had gone up into their original holding patterns the danger seemed to have all but passed, that was until he saw the warden shoot a blast not unlike the entropi's at some of the residents.

Reaching for his jump line he paused and slipped on the legion ring he'd once gotten from...Tinya. It hurt to think about the Woman right now but he'd been foolish to think that such a woman would stay in his life, as much as he loved her fate just wasn't kind. All that aside she'd given it to him for a reason and he was going to show the warden what that reason was. Using the ring to Fly down he Flipped as he landed planting his feet harder than expected having not gotten the full hang on landings with the power the ring gave to his. " hey sparky..."

The Warden did not appear to acknowledge the taunt -- indeed, not even the voice at all, nor the very sound of it. Instead he reacted to the movement, lifting one hand as it gathered white hot energy, and flung it powerfully at his target.

Dick was Quick but not Quick enough to dodge the full blast It hit him Square in the side as if it had followed him causing him to growl out a cry of pain. The smell of charred flesh met his nose for the third time in econtra, the pain was strong but he pushed through it. If he could just keep the warden at bay..keep his attention then others had more time to get to safety. " That all ya got..gnn...come on" Dick came at him this time in an attack from the ground as he forced his side to straighten as he swung his legs in an attempt to unbalance the Warden.

Again, the Warden did not even seem to register the voice and seemed to focus only on the movement. He did not react as Dick came at him, but the strike did not connect -- approximately six inches from contact his legs would rebound off an invisible shield, which rippled and expended the same force as was applied to it. That was, the harder a physical strike it received, the harder it would repel it... but never more than the energy expended.

Neka had just left her aparrtment when the Keepers had gone through the compound trying to find the Indigeo. SHe had managed to dodge the bolts and the debris. The lightning was fast, but she had managed to dodge the Grim Heaper before and he seemed almost as fast.

The Player was determined to locate her friends. She hadn't heard from either one of the Rhymes, Shiki, or Joshua in the long time and she was worried about them.

(OOC: Sorry about the repost. I fail epicly on reading ooc notes before rushing to work. x.x)

Despite the fact that she looked like she wasn't paying much attention to what was going on around her, Neka saw the Warden's movement and threw herself to one side. The first bolt caught her in the side, but the second missed. She didn't bother using her Healing Whale pin right now. Instead she activated Wonder Magnum and sent three small bursts of energy back at the Warden.

Relena had left her apartment to survay the damage done to the city from the Keepers and their little game of chase. She didn't like what she had seen and as soon as she was done with a quick survay of the compound she was going to talk with Heero.

Having emptied the clinic, although moving unhurriedly and his motions seeming somehow wooden and unnatural, the Warden moved into the streets, apparently searching for more targets. He did not appear to react at all to sound, but swung his gaze back and forth as though searching for any movement.

Relena froze when she saw the Warden. She knew the look of someone searching for a target to attack. It was harder to see looks like these inside of a mobile suit cockpit, but she recognized the movement.

Yugi, unfortunately, was not so lucky. He had chosen to look around after he woke up after blacking out. It seemed whatever caused the damage to the area was gone and he wanted to see what happened and if anyone needed help. He turned the corner from around the building, not to far from Relena, catch sight of her first. "Hey, miss!" He called, hurrying over to her, not seeing the Warden quite yet.
