i got scooped! noooooo!

apparently, someone has used a case-based reasoner to predict the performance of a constructed wetland...much the same as i used a case-based reasoner to predict the success or failure of virtual ecosystems! and i can't even read the article to find out how badly i was scooped! augh!

yeah. lucky for me, there's enough difference in the particulars and in the reasons for using the technique that i'm not going to have to change my whole research method at this really late date.

i should be okay. although they used the same technique, the system they applied it to...and the reasons for applying it...are different enough from my project that i think i can keep my originality clause.

i should probably make sure to acknowledge the paper, though, so i don't look like i'm trying to ignore its existence. Irvine wouldn't happen to have a subscription to Environmental Engineering Science, would it?
