Oh yes, when it comes to cleaning my pc (which isnt often!) i go mental with them fuzzies!! once i *totally* stripped my keyboard, just to get the blighters!

TIP: if you are cleaning the pc fan by removing it, make sure theprocessor is NOT stuck to the bottom of it!! It has a habit of being pulled out, and we all know what a bugger it is putting *those* things back in (or is it just me?).

Nice one on the grades, too!! :O)

yeah, i'm considering taking my laptop apart to de-fuzzy / de-crumb her. but i think i'm too chicken to actually do it.

but poor Louise (who is nice and fuzz free now), does not qualify as a PC. if it says anything, she has three fans! and i have no idea how to take them out, so i think i'm safe from accidentally yanking the processer. : )

i don't think i've had that problem with Caleb either, but then he's mostly a waste of space in a metal box. but i've never pulled his processor,so i have no idea if it's hard to put back. of course, i think it's dying at this point, so i may find out soon! : P

I tried to open up my laptop (remember, it was nearly buggered [a technical term!] when i got it) - undid all the screws i could see, but couldnt prise the blasted thing open... really didnt want to force anything in case i *really* messed it up!

Kinda assuming need to take the screen bit off first, but dont need to "operate" on it (yet!) so ill save that till its dying! :O)

ps... if you have never installed a processor into a motherboard, then ill tell you now.. its a *very* delicate job and a pain in the ass!!!!

try to find a piccy of the underside of a processor (pentium, athalon - makes no difference), and try to count the pins! you will see what i mean!
