Montreal traffic patterns are insane.  this is a well known fact in Canada...and among people from the US who have come to visit me.  traffic is heavy and fast, and the road system is very oddly designed.  when my parents came this summer, they were perfectly happy to leave all the driving to me, once they'd seen the 20 / 520 and  520 / 40 / 15 ( Read more... )

I've driven through Montreal traffic twice in my life. Both times I was *not* thinking fond thoughts of the city or the civil engineers that designed that tumbled bowl of spaghetti and route numbers. Both times we got lost while staying on the highway. Only city I've ever been in where the route directions and highway numbers magically seem to *change* while you're on them. Dr. Seuss and M.C. Escher would be proud. ;)

If I ever drive through Montreal again.. I will be certain to have the GPS programmed with the local routes.

And..lord.. we had to stop for gas there once. That was a whacky fun bilingual adventure!

oh yeah, i'm fairly certain the city planners were on crack when they designed the highway system. i've gotten used to it, but every so often i get to look with fresh eyes and think "WTF?"

Hahahhaaa!! I already know approximately who wins that show, because one of the camera men types came into our store to get photocopies of the show's final awards presentation. I think it's a baldish guy with glasses. I just think it's funny that it's on now...I haven't watched any eps though!

this is the only one i've caught, and that's mostly because i was too busy to change the channel. and of the three left, i'm not overly surprised that that guy would win. : )
