When the eee had keyboard issues they just sent us a new keyboard which we swapped in no problem. We even kept the old one for key replacements.

I was hoping I'd be able to do that! I always heard Asus had terrible customer service too, so I never bothered calling them when my trackpad started having problems. But by the time it became an issue, I was already looking for an excuse to upgrade...
