I had a reeeeeeally stressful night. But for now, I just want to comment on an oddity of life.

As a gamer geek, I have a hopefully not too unique hobby of inserting my friends and family members names into the games I play. You know, like when you play Wizardry or some other party based RPG, and you're making your party? Yeah, I would always try to ( Read more... )

Hah! I've done that now and then, it's true.

And yes... Wasteland was a fantastic game! I had no idea it was available online!

I used to do that, back when I played video games. XD Can't say I had any parties that were specifically Guild-themed, however.

I think I've used the names of people I know for game characters a few times, but more frequently I end up digging through my piles of old roleplay characters looking for something that fits. Though I do name a lot of male protagonists after my dog, for some reason. Poor Ramses, he's met so many horrible deaths.

Oh, and I once made an entire Oregon Trail group with the name of a professor I was angry with, and sent them off without any food or supplies. It was surprisingly cathartic. XD

I name Pokemon after friends, but that's about the only exception, actually...

If it's a heavily story-driven game (like, say, FFX) I often just leave characters' names as-is. Otherwise they usually get named after my own characters.
