Surprise? You don't know the half of it!

Saturday turned out to be an interesting day. Shannon and I had her mom come over and watch Alex for a few hours. We intended to go to the A's vs. Texas Rangers Spring Training game in Surprise. By the time we got there it was too late. There is only one convenient road from where we live into the budding bedroom community, and traffic was ( Read more... )

I was a little boy when Charlie O. ran the A's (eventually into the ground). From what I read, the jackass symbol applied. But, they did win for a while, and my dad took my sister and I to the 1974 World Series parade in Downtown Oakland.

Hard to get to Surprise?

Check - deathbytamarind and I had the same problem last year, and that was for a midweek night game. By the time we got there, the top of the first was just beginning. At least we had our tickets in advance.

And as bad as traffic is in Surprise, I'm going to soon be living in the heart of it. Oy! The experts say it won't always be this bad, so they'd better get busy on constructing more ways in and out of it. I wanted to run over some old lady cruising in her golf cart on Del Webb Rd. on Sunday morning. I'm certain to smell the prune juice, Ben Gay, and moth balls passing through Sun City everyday to get home.

Very cool about the house, Alex walking and the cat! Sounds like things are going well for you. Too cool!

I love your icon shot. He's coming along!

Yes, things are progressing for us on many fronts, and even though this is shaping up to be a good year so far, we see even better things in our future with a brand new house.

I've never lived in a home that was previously un-owned. I am so excited, and it will become all the more close to reality soon. We're signing the papers and will meet the design team after we come back from our Easter weekend Bay Area trip.

I've never lived in a new house either. House shopping is fun.
