  • The White Stripes - GET BEHIND ME, SATAN

i'm still digesting this one. so far, i can tell you it's a departure from their first four albums. it does have a lot more piano than they're known for, much like the track "Truth Doesn't Make A Noise" from DE STIJL.

They had a Greatest Hits DVD... that'd have most of their videos I imagine.

i had no idea of its existence. i may have to invest in this. my DVD player has been set to region free. this hasn't been released here in the US though. they did make a video for one of my favorite songs, Swimming Horses from HYAENA, but its not on here. pity.

i have that Cure dvd. I also have TRILOGY, the Berlin concert dvd where they performed PORNOGRAPHY, DISINTEGRATION, and BLOODFLOWERS albums in their entirety. that's a nice one. and i have SEVEN YEAR ITCH concert dvd by Siouxsie & The Banshees, but her ability to sing like she used to is long gone. her vocal chords have passed their shelf life.

So, which one of these would you pick to remain in California when packing for Arizona if somebody'd put a gun to your head?

No motivation, eh? An impulsive decision, I take it? What's your relationship with the White Stripes anyway? Wanna lie down on that figurative sofa and talk about it? ;)

i really like the White Stripes. should I have said Coldplay instead? i'm not going to reverse my stance on Kraftwerk and The Cure, since I've been fans of both for over 20 years. White Stripes and Coldplay have both been around for barely 5 years, and i've warmed up to X&Y more so far. i haven't found the right time to fully explore GET BEHIND ME, SATAN yet. so based on that, chossing the White Stripes was the honest answer to your impulsive question. i have 4 of the 5 WS cds, as I still need their eponymous effort. i haven't heard a note of it. and Blue Orchid, the current single, isn't as nice as most of Coldplay's latest. The Kraftwerk set is fuckin' awesome, so that's a keeper. I like my porn (PORNOGRAPHY by the Cure). I forgot to even list DON'T BELIEVE THE TRUTH from Oasis, which i also got in its first day of release. i'm not too high on it yet. i've only fallen for the first track, Turn Up The Sun. the first single Lyla is boring in my opinion.
