I was about to post a comment to someone's journal along the lines of "I've always felt that...." when I realised that I couldn't remember whether the thing in question was something I'd always felt or whether I acquired the notion from somebody else, even though it now seems to be something I do feel strongly about, myself. I really need to sort my tags out. "Philosophy" isn't really the right term for this; I wish LJ had a function to combine tags, as I'd really like to dump a lot of these posts under a collective heading of "thoughtful stuff".

If you think it's worth the effort, you could always rename whichever one has more posts right now to "thoughtful stuff", the other one to "thoughtful stuff2", then simply go through all entries on the second one and remove the 2 from their tag... it's still some work, but does take a lot less effort than manually editing every single entry.

Though maybe this is totally obvious and unhelpful, in which case, just ignore it...

Instead of saying "I've always felt that..." you could say something like "I also feel that..." Then it won't matter so much where you got the idea. :)

True, I guess. I'm inclined to make absolute statements more often than is helpful for people trying to understand me literally, I think. :3
