"Trouble," 118 words, PG
At first, she thought the nausea was just nerves. Then, she ignored it as the natural side effect of the mingled grief and fury that he'd left in his wake. But a month after he was gone, it was still there, and Marion Ravenwood knew she was in trouble.
She called him every nasty name she could think of in every language she knew, which took a while. A different woman might have cried, but she was Abner Ravenwood's daughter, and she had faced far worse circumstances than being abandoned by Indiana Jones. She told herself quite firmly to get over it, and proceeded as if she had, which was almost as good as success.

"Are you sure?" she demanded, looking at him with narrowing eyes.
"I don't-" he began, then stopped, licked his lips, ran a hand over the stubble he never seemed to be able to get rid of completely. "I don't regret things, Marion. But - I regret... leaving you. And not just because of...." He trailed off, looking out the window at their son, hands in black leather pockets, admiring a motorcycle on the curb. "There hasn't been a day that I haven't regretted it."

He gave her his trademark lopsided grin, the one that still caught her heart in her throat. "We're neither of us as young as we used to be, doll. I've done a lot of dumb things. Let me make some of them up to you."
"I love you," she said, voice flat with the truth she hated to admit.
"Be impulsive," he replied, leaning forward, eyes glittering with challenge.
"Don't make me regret this, Indiana Jones."
"Never," and he slipped the ring onto her finger.
