No, people need the font on their computers to be able to see it. If it's a weird font that came with your computer, but isn't that common, a large number of viewers still might have it - list it as the first choice font but then list a few other acceptable ones for those who many not have it on their computer.

Hmm... I'm not sure, actually, if the font needs to be in the fonts file of the computer, or if it just needs to be supported by the browser, or if the answer is the two of these combined in some way. You can always upload the font file to a webspace somewhere and make it available for download, if you like, with a link on your journal so anyone who *doesn't* have the font supported can download it if he/she wishes to (then again, this brings copyright issues &c. into play... heh).

Sorry I'm not online right now to help you with your overrides; we have company over, and I must be ready to leave my computer at any time, so it'd be too much of a hassle. (Plus, I'm just not in the AIM mood right now.) But I'd be happy to help you out with your stuff another time. :) I feel the pain that is not being able to make your journal do what you want it to do. ::pets Kirsten:: There, there, it'll be alright.

nyah. if you had a paid account it wouldn't be hard to fix at all. styles rock. but alas, you must deal with free account funness.

you're using generator, right?

and as for the font thingy, unless you embed it into your page, which i'm not 100% sure you can do with an lj, a person has to have it on their computer to view it. just put a second choice like arial or sans serif, something that you know everyone will have just in case.
