how did you achieve it? ;)

I'm the most messy person when it comes to making icons.
I useally don't have a pattern, but I always duplicate the first layer and set it to screen. Then I play with the curves. Then I fool around with Selective Color. Most of the times it set in the Red ones the cyan to -100 and the yellow to +25. Then I set in the Yellows the yellow thingie to -35. If I don't like the colouring I play around some more with the other colours.
In some icons I have a light blue layer set to colorburn. This gives the icon a blueish atmosphere.

If you get what I just typed here, you're a genius, because I suck at tutorials :(

LOL

Thank you so much for your little tut! :D You're awesome :D and helped me a lot (we'll actually see it when making icons, lol)
If got one more specific question according to playing with the curves. you lighten the icon, or play rather with red/green/blue? I can't never figure it out!

The rest is understandable for me! Thank you once again! and no, you don't suck at tutorials :)
can't wait for more icons of yours! :D

aaaw thanks!

I play with the RGB (to clear the icon) and mostly with the blue and red curves. Just so it gets some 'weird' looking shadows and such.

Not taking any. I have too many things shoved on my computer as is. But I really love your work. Simple is my favorite.
