Another brilliant chapter. You even made me feel sorry for King! I was a bit concerned over the character death warning, but thankfully the boys have come through it unscathed :-)

Is there another chapter? You seem to have tied up all the loose ends, or have I missed something? Maybe we'll be treated to a whole chapter of Gene showing Sam just how grateful he is for saving his life ;-)

There's one more chapter, correct. I won't tell you what's in it, but I haven't quite tied up every single end, though I will take your suggestion into consideration...

Thanks for the new chapter, intense as always but I especially like this one because it refers to one of my fave scenes - the end of season 2 episode 1 - when Gene takes Sam's side against Crane when he really doesn't seem to believe him. I could watch the last couple minutes of the episode over and over.

Off topic, the adverts at the top of the page, which display according to the words you use in your post are making me laugh. 'Gene Synthesis - fast and inexpensive' I'll take one.

Intense was what I was aiming for - hooray! The S02E01 scene referred to is such a well-acted moment, because to me it is quite clear that Gene doesn't believe Sam. People have disagreed with me, but I think that Gene's much more shrewd than Sam gives him credit for sometimes. And if Gene doesn't believe Sam, it's very interesting that he chooses to put Crane away.
Anyway, enough of me over-analysing! Thanks for commenting (oh the adverts on my screen are talking about 'Fat Gene Testing' and 'Genes made in Gwermany'...hmm...)

Wow ... great combination of drama, angst, h/c and even humour. Also love the way you tie everything in ... Toolbox, Crane, Vic etc. as well as Morgan! I wonder, will we get to the bottom of Sam's "betrayal" of DI Ramsay?

You never fail to disappoint, you know, and this is my favourite part so far. That may change though if you are adding a final part *dances in excitement* which I actually am impatiently waiting for and am ridiculously excited to read.

The very last part was excellent, especially the bit regarding Gene and the 'flicker of unhappy realisation'. I like that. ^-^
