Drama Night recap
Crew: Lesanne, Mars
Station: Bizcut, Adin
Visiting Crew: Mavia, Kata
Before the main session, the Magistrate called Capt Lesanne into her office. She apologized for sending the crew into danger-- Arnem Station was expected to be safe. However, Lesanne is in trouble for losing the Aurean and getting her ship blown up. She can't afford another screwup. The Aurean was taken by The Mission, a shadowy security organization within the AGC; the Magistrate explained (with some bitterness) that the Aurean affair is now entirely out of the ASF's hands.
Captain Michele Ling (played by Mavia) arrived at the station with her first mate Kata; she was due for a ship upgrade, and was happy to get rid of her old ship-- the Valkyrie-- for a top-of-the-line model. As soon as her new ship arrives, the Valkyrie will be Lesanne's.
Michele and Kata found Adin working on an access panel in the Valk's landing bay. He didn't respond much to questions, and wouldn't leave till he was forced off at gunpoint. Kata chased him into the base, grabbed hold of him... and then slipped on the floor and hit her head. Adin took the opportunity to get away.
Meanwhile the base medic, Biz, was checking out Mars and Lesanne, both in bad shape after their encounters with the pirates. Kata came in-- without her gun, bleeding from her head. Biz took care of her, and put both her and Mars in the tank for further healing.
Lesanne helped Michele track down the "gorilla" who had accosted them... it turned out that Adin was the base's chief engineer, well known to Lesanne. Lesanne helped calm him down, and explained to Michele that he was suffering from amnesia.
Fast forward a couple days to when both had recovered. Kata, by the way, was now dressed in a barely adequate outfit, which Biz assured her was the only one available...
Michele and Lesanne talked in the kitchen; it turns out that they knew each other at the ASF Academy
Michele rather tactlessly assumed that Lesanne was on the crew of the Nebulous and bad-mouthed the captain who let it happen. However, she helped Lesanne feel better about her career-- pointing out that the ASF needed captians; most people were too sensible to leave their comfortable planets and go get shot at...
Kata came in to report... but heard Adin kicking around the lockers upstairs, and ran to investigate before Michele could warn her. She got herself knocked down again. Michele found them in the command center, and tried to separate them; when Adin punched Kata instead of retreating, she shot him in the thigh. Lesanne came in, and went to find the medic.
Michele finally had a chance to explain to Kata that Adin was... disturbed. Kata immediately felt contrite, and found Lesanne, stammering out that she would like to help in any way possible. Mars was observing this, and looked like she was forming a poor opinion of this bumbling brusier in Daisy Dukes...

This was an example of what we've called a drama night... mostly low-scale encounters between smaller numbers of people, intended to build characters, establish relationships and conflicts, and have fun. Some plot elements were planned (e.g. Lesanne meeting Michele), but mostly they evolved improvisationally-- the conflicts with Adin, for instance.
Biz managed, if I'm counting right, to get four cast members naked. That's definitely a team record, and the challenge is on...
