[ he sits at the living room table with a large red bowl of sake (yes, bowl. not cup) seemingly musing to himself. ]How anticlimactic. I had expected a battle yet one never came. I find myself desiring more, especially without Shingen-dono to entertain me. Though in retrospect, it is a relief to see the missing return and see this land safe once ( Read more... )

Hm. It is interesting, having no battles here. There is always the option of sparring.

... [Though, yeah.]

It would feel more like home with the snow.

Indeed there is. There have been battles in the past, mostly against supernatural enemies. This month, however, not a single battle surfaced.

[ yeah indeed.... ]

It indeed would. Echigo is covered by snow every winter. How beautiful it is.

Mm. It is strange, not having enemies to fight. At the same time, it can be relaxing.

Kamui is the same. All year around there is snow. Suddenly having none... it's very strange.

Indeed. There are times of peace in this land, often welcomed as the times of battle are so unusual. Not everyone here is a fighter. It is most difficult for them.

Echigo does have snowless springs which bring the flowers and the cherry trees, yet a winter without snow would be most unusual.

Strange, yes... but I'm thankful we were not forced to fight.

Indeed. There is no need for senseless bloodshed.

I'm rather glad I did not have to fight the missing ones. They could have been those who were close to us.

Indeed. That turn of events would be most unfortunate; a terrible means to lose allies.

Yes. It's a cruel thing the island has done.

And I cannot shake the feeling that someone was responsible for this. Do you think it'll happen again Lord Kenshin?

Indeed I do. There is something about this place, something which causes the misery and battles alike. Not simply a curse, as the locals deem it. Something perhaps more severe.
