i'm seen the PREVIEWS (lol) for Ergo Proxy. it looked really kickass. so it IS worth a look?

most definately! Its got a kind of Brave New World feel to it. The way I described it to Kris was that it was a mix between something like Elfin Lied and Ghost in the Shell or Bubblegum Crisis: Tokyo 2040 (if you know those series lol). I'm only up to episode 14 but its the kind of thing that either has you scratching your head at the end of the episode wondering what the hell is going on or leaves you going 'eh...maybe one more episode won't hurt...I mean it is already 4am anyway' lol. Really addictive, I can't wait to see how it ends (really short series, like 24 episodes or something).
