In the dark
Matt woke suddenly, bolting upright in bed when he heard a pained yelp. It was followed by a stream of curses.
He flicked the light switch as he swung his feet out of bed but the room remained pitch dark. He frowned.
“Hils? You okay?”
“No; my foot hurts,” Becker grumbled. “We’ve had a power cut. I couldn’t see a thing, stood on Moss and when he jumped I caught my foot on the doorframe.”
Matt rolled his eyes. “Why didn’t you open the curtains?” he asked, doing just that and flooding the room with moonlight.
“Didn't think of that.”
