Recording "Getting Geeky"

Last night, I spent most of the evening recording parts for a 'studio' version of "Getting Geeky" (a live performance video of which is here-beware, the video starts automatically). It's coming along really well! I've still got to work on the ending and the instrumental bridge a bit, but I should have a workable draft done fairly soon ( Read more... )

Funny seems to be the crowd-pleaser. I was leaning more toward the personal pieces than the fan works. Plus, you know, I've played on all those songs.

Yeah, the trick will be to winnow it down to 8-10 songs. But the numbers are coming out ... interesting. :)

I noticed a you had a couple of DC Universe songs* and a couple of blues songs in the list, and the idea occurred to me that you might want to save those for future themed releases.

* And where is the Green Arrow song?

Hmmm. Themed albums. I hadn't considered that, but you're right, I almost could do a DC-themed album. And no, don't yet have a Green Arrow song, but I just finished one about the Joker, and I'm working on one about Green Lantern. Plus, there's The Ballad of Barry Allen, which isn't mine but I could easily cover. That's five right there. Certainly enough for an EP.

Interesting idea. Thank you for mentioning it.
