Upside is that your boss said to take care of yourself right? So make sure you do that! First and foremost! Everything else is secondary to you. Are you working from home or just taking straight time off? Can you maybe go back part-time for that week until you get to the doctor?
this is true. and i'm trying to do that, for sure. well, the original plan was to work from home part-time this week and then be completely off until july 14th. now, i have no idea. i left the boss a message about the change in appointments, but told him i would come back on the 13th and just take the 21st off. i mean, i'm mostly okay. except for the insomnia and some mood swings. what's worse is that on top of all of this, i'm supposed to dog-sit from the 15th-24th and normally i'd work from home while doing that. but now i would feel like total shit for doing that on top of taking all this other time off. i'm also pretty sure that my 2 us-based employees will kill me if i disappear for that long. alas!
It sounds like you're handling it fairly okay - what with telling your boss and acknowledging you need the 21st off. Just stick to your guns on your mental health. It won't help anyone, least of all your work, if you can't work stuff out the right way :-D
this is all very true. the bossman has been very nice about it. i have a feeling he's on vacation or he would've called me back by now, probably to tell me to take more time if i need it. it's nice, but i feel guilty for doing it.
