who doesn't love a mine fire??
lately, i am obsessed with centralia, pennsylvania. i can't stop reading about it; from what i've gathered, in the 1960s a mine fire was started accidentally and it is still burning. and it'll keep burning for the next 250 years. smoke pours out of cemetaries and hillsides, the ground has erupted, there are tons of vents emitting noxious gasses
