[The smell of baking cookies fills the kitchen and the hallway outside of it. Souji's at the fridge, pouring a glass of milk, which he sets on the table. He looks over toward the oven where babbyfied Yousuke is standing, peering into the window in the oven door. Souji smiles to himself.]

It'll be a few more minutes.

Yeah, they don't look done.

[He opens the door juuuust a little to get a better smell, and flinches at the outwards rush of hot air. They do smell good though! He then closes the oven, and begins to wander around, mostly following Souji and occasionally looking back to the timer to see if they are done yet.]

Is that a special kind of knife?

[Souji shakes his head and takes a star-shaped cookie cutter out of a drawer.]

You use these before you bake them.

Ohhh, okay! I get it. Yeah, we should totally do that next!

[eatsyourscience]

[Souji nods and pulls a few more out of the drawer. It's pretty much a given that this will only be the first of a long string of cookie batches.]

Oh wow! There's a lot of shapes!

[Enough cookies for the whole damn orphanage.]

[Souji nods. He takes the current batch out of the oven and puts them on a rack to cool while he starts to make more dough for the next batch.]

Can I break the eggs?

[eatsyourscience]

[Souji nods and gestures for Yousuke to come over and do so.]

[Yes! Yousuke scrambles over his way. He gets to do the best part!]

[Souji picks him up and sets him on a clear spot on the counter so he's at a decent height to get this done.]

[Whee getting picked up! It's extra fun because Souji's so dang tall. Yousuke then busies himself with carefully breaking eggs into a separate bowl to make sure he doesn't get any shell in the dough.]

[Souji does as much as he can before he needs the eggs, then looks into the bowl Yousuke has.]

Looks good.

I'm good at cracking eggs. I can make eggs sunny side up to put on toast!
