1981 was a year of great moments in history:
- I was born
- Bobby Sands began his hunger strike in prison (shortly followed by his death)
- Lady Di married Prince Charles
- France abolished capital punishment
- Metallica were formed...

but by far the coolest thing to happen in 1981 was Debbie Harry appearing on The Muppet Show:

I remember that episode. I watched that when I was 10. Weird to think I was watching Debbie Harry on the Muppets around the time that you were being born.

I may have been being born, but I like to think that shortly after I was weened off placental goodness, I was watching the muppets. It's quite possible that I also saw this episode when it was originally aired, though it is unfortunate that my memory of the first year of my life is a little hazy.
