This looks really interesting and you have me wondering if I can find some beef in my neighbourhood. Beef is one of the things I have been searching for since moving to China. How thick would you recommend the beef to be?
Honestly, the recipe didn't say, it only mentions 'thinly sliced'. I'd think though, that if it were TOO thin, it would fall apart during the last 20 min of cooking.
So maybe 1/4 inch? Def not deli sliced for sure, lol. This might also be good with chicken breasts pounded thin, or even boneless pork chops/loin, too.
Wow, this sounds great, I will be trying this for sure. I wonder if you'd have to cover it at the end? It doesn't say anything about it, but I guess maybe not since the meat is supposed to be thin? You wouldn't flip it with the tomato paste on it, obviously. Thanks for posting! Dawnielle
The recipe didn't say about covering, so I'm not sure. This is an untried recipe, but it looked so good I had to share.
Let us know if you try it how it turns out and if you did anything differently! (I'll be trying it as soon as I can remember to get the darn roast beef, lol)
