That sounds weird... entertaining, but frankly odd. I had hoped for more Shambles, but this seems more like a Shambles. Esp for £20... Anyway, I'm glad you had a good time hun x x x
Most of all, the choice of songs was nothing short of wonderful, considering that the selection of records was probably determined by what was available from a 10p rack in a charity shop. Punk, ska, sixties soul, a particularly crunchy edition of the sound track to the Beatles’ Help a smattering of Ella Fitzgerald, the Jam and the Smiths.
This made me smile though. Thanks, as always, for the write up.
Was weird, and if I hadn't been in quite a bouncy, jolly mood I might have enjoyed it less. But, you know, with Peter you always take the chance that it'll be dodgy.
Last night was ridiculous but i really enjoyed myself and woke up this morning with a big grin plastered on my face which hasn't happened in a long time, lately I've awoken with a sense of dread but last night cured me i been having the odd chuckle as bits come back to me. Yes he was rather useless and i did feel for the rest of the band at the end. They are such troopers, thank god for them I got a taxi from old street! How decedent!
Yes, but considering what time it must have been when you got the taxi, I'd say it was practical, not decadent. I was home by 12:30am. and it felt scarily early. Glad you had fun BTW. xxx
You made a sensible decision leaving when you did, I think we stumbled out around 2.30am. I know lots of people hated last night but it had its charm and was good to see the band together if only for 30 mins. See you tomorrow? xxx
You know - that sounds exactly like MY kind of gig.
Seriously.
We used to have 'em like that in my basement in the old days. I forgot what the band was called, but I was related to half of them, so it doesn't matter.
Well it was fun, if a bit frustrating. Woulda been marvellous but £20 was rather steep for what we got, y'know, rather like a public rehearsal - jam session.
