Interview with the Vampire actually isn't an interview, beyond the first ten pages or so... That's the frame and occasionally it'll come back to that, but mostly it's just first-person recollection, without the interviewer being there as a character.

That being said, it is incredibly angsty. If you're not particularly enjoying it, I would suggest you skip the book and watch the movie, and then go back and read The Vampire Lestat, which is about a hundred times more enjoyable.

true, yeah. maybe it was just the order in which i happened to pick it up, but i was too annoyed with how it was progressing to continue. maybe i'll try the movie sometime.

The movie has Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise, Christian Slater, Antonio Banderas, and ittle baby Kirsten Dunst. It's good times.

YES on Harry Potter. what's up with all of those kids? Ughhhh Harry Potter disappearing into boring suburban life. Terrible.

Harry did realize what was going on, thanks to Dumbledore and Snape. You're right about it all being other people's work, though. I think I'd be more in favor of him dying only because then there couldn't have been a duel with the Elder Wand. That's what killed it for me.

Yeeah, that duel really did just suck any "realism" out of the story. I'm really hoping that the director of the next two movies takes some creative license with that part.
