Re. 1. No, you're not, but it isn't easy, or particularly lucrative. I make my living from being a poet, and the main problems are that a) it really does not pay a lot, compared to being a novelist, b) it's very difficult for a woman poet to break into the poetry world (that's in the UK though, which is notoriously backward in that particular circle) and c) you can neither be self-conscious or unwilling to travel. I do a fair few readings, but I travel all over the country to do them. There's also the fact that as soon as you tell people you're a poet, they say "how wonderful, I've written some poetry too - but what's your job?" which will undoubtedly make you want to kill them after a while.

Oh here is where I bow down at your feet. I want to be you someday. :)

You're so good at what you do that I don't doubt that you're very successful in the poetry world. Honestly I'm always amazed by how beautiful your use of the English language is.

Travelling sounds like a definite plus, but people not taking the profession seriously, not so much. :/

All bowing is appreciated! ;D Thank you though, I'm so glad you like my writing style.

I commented here because I read the poem you posted the other day and I was really impressed with it. It was better than anything I've seen out of my students so far this year. If you'd ever like any advice or pointers, whatever, do say. I'd be more than happy to give them. :)

The travelling is less exciting than you might think. Usually it's me sitting on a train for three hours. However, I live in the UK, so it's bound to have less variety.

i. Am I right in feeling this ridiculous for having serious aspirations of becoming a poet.
There are stranger things. However, I wouldn't talk to Miss How-Can-I-Major-In-Hobo/Vagabondism.

ii. Do you want to know my most recent secret. Only one other soul knows.
Okay let us hear your secret.

iii. Shall I come back to Rockville and go to community college for the spring semester or go back to Farmville.
I would say it's cool that you would be in Rockville, but I don't want to make this decision for you. It's what makes you happy and what will help you with your edumacations.

iv. I'm feeling a bit dark, a bit twisted, a bit delicious. Thus I am feeling the tiniest bit Gauntcestuous. Shall I write some? :)
How 'bout some Dumblecest. Whore. :D

v. Who enjoys Jerry Springer as much as I do?
My mom get amused/angry when I watch it.

i. Poets + hobos = OTP.

ii. Here is the secret.

iii. I am coming back to Rockville. And basically majoring in creative writing, since half of the classes I'm taking are this. :)

iv. Oh Albus/Ariana was so my OTP until JK so unceremoniously yanked him out of the closet. -_-

v. JERRY SPRINGER IS FTW. :D

i. NO. Aspirations are never ridiculous. and you write ahmazing poems. If you published a book, I would buy it. So even if aspirations could be ridiculous, yours wouldn't be.

ii. Do you want to know my most recent secret. Only one other soul knows.
yes, secrets are my favorite. I hope it's a good one.

iii. Shall I come back to Rockville and go to community college for the spring semester or go back to Farmville.
Hmm. Too serious. I can't even make decisions like that for myself.

iv. I'm feeling a bit dark, a bit twisted, a bit delicious. Thus I am feeling the tiniest bit Gauntcestuous. Shall I write some? :)
YES. PLEASE.

v. Who enjoys Jerry Springer as much as I do?

i. Merci. :) I recently discovered that whoa, this is my life's dream. So, I am going for it. If I end up in a box or a dumpster um. That's okay. At least I'll be a happy homeless person, haha.

ii. I guess it could be. :) I have made communities for the archive-age of words.

iii. I am coming back to my hometown. I've been all depressed lately, so they think being here will be helpful to me. I'm taking a lot of creative wrirint classes next semester here at the community college. I'm excited!

iv. It is happening, yaye. I have missed it a lot.

v. It's amazinggg. My secret addiction.
