I washed our mouse-y shelves with peppermint oil once and they stayed away for a while. If you can stand peppermint, it might do the trick.

It was actually peppermint Dr. Bronner's, if I recall correctly. Do you get Dr. Bronner's over there?

o! peppermint, yes, that's an idea. we used lemon when mymouse and i washed the drawers out (at the end of the summmer?). didn't htink of peppermint. will have a think about whether i can coexist with that comfortably.

i'm not sure about dr. bronner's - not familiar wiht it, but that doesnt' mean it isn't here...

I think the peppermint sounds quite good and it's such a lovely fresh smell too..you could always check to see if the mouse is still around by putting a small piece of chocolate in the drawer..they love chocolate..if it's gone in the a.m..you still have a mouse!..good luck with it though..when my eldest daughter was a baby I lived in a horrible flat infested with mice..caused me no end of trouble and my baby ended up getting a very serious tummy illness despite my never ending attempts to keep everything spotless and clean..it is a serious thing all joking aside..keep us posted..x
