I love that song (loved it ever since I watched Knopfler sing it live in London). And I loved this. I'll always believe there's a place for them, like the movie song - it was just that the time was wrong. (ETA: *sniffle*.)

It's such a gorgeous song, and I really love Matt Nathanson's cover of it. There's this hint of melancholy that's not as present in the original and it makes the lyrics more poignant. And I've been listening to it on repeat for about two weeks now, so when it came for titling, there was nothing else to be done.

Beautiful and painful and messy and sweet and sexy and vulnerable and so much more. Just like David Cook himself. I mourn that there will never be REAL COOKWOOD, but fics like this make me happy. Super job.
