This was really well done, just the right amount of realism vs romance.

He puts the car in drive and pulls out of the parking lot. He has milk to pick up. It's Christmas. She doesn't love him. Someday he'll be okay with that.

Love the terseness.

Ouch. Amazing stuff. You really got a good grip on the headspace of someone in the midst of a massive heartbreak that they can't really talk about.
