Asterix rules. Hands down (more than one movie, by the way. WAAAAY more. Tons). Try actually looking at the character names. Then take a look at the outside-English copies. (In German, Getafix is called 'Miraculix' for example). Also, the books come in Latin. Can't tell me that isn't groovy.

Yeah, there was a book about Asterix that had a great long section on the translations. I've only seen one movie translated to English. I knew there were more, though.

Asterix is indeed a great comic series. The Asterix cartoons are just as great as the comics they're based off of.

I remember as a kid buying an Asterix book with paper cut-outs of all the characters and the homes from the village. It was a pretty awesome sight to see once everything was set up properly. Too bad that village didn't last very long.

I bet that was a cool toy. I had a knightly tournament cardboard cutout thingie that was pretty cool.
