Remembering

This morning I helped carry some items destined for the holiday gift bags for the kids at church, and I remembered stories my mother told me of Christmas celebrations of her youth. My youngest was thrilled. She gave me the candy, but made me peel the orange for her before we even made it out of the building. I think I'll have to get some for their stockings on Christmas morning. :)

It was funny, my "I like all the healthy foods" child was excited by the candy canes. My younger one was more excited about the orange too. Hehe.

Now I know where living "high on the hog" comes from.
My family had a tradition of getting a tangerine in the stocking. We always had that for breakfast before we opened gifts.
It's nice to hear about your mom's memories.
