the simple things . . .

It's a beautiful spring-like day! I'm sitting outside on the patio, my mom's vintage table cloth is on the table, enjoying a cup of coffee in my favorite "Debra" mug, talking to my sister in Pennsylvania, .... oh, and Jack just flew in to see what's what. It's those simple things that I love the most.

Every day is "what a day!" If you know what I mean, and I think you do. The day is how you choose to accept each moment.

I'm sad because no egrets ever join me for a cup of tea.

Speaking of cups, I love that mug. Did you make it?

My friend Debra, who is a potter, made me a set of four mugs recently. She is also at the gallery selling her excellent creations! She is good!!!

When we were in NC last year, hummingbirds and other little backyard birds visited the porch feeders by the dozens every day. That's what I like! Anything with wings will satisfy me.

Debra is very talented.

We have the most cardinals that I have ever seen this year. During the recent snowstorm, there were so many of them in the Japanese cherry in the front yard that it looked like a Christmas tree. They were taking turns at the feeder, just like humans at a drive-in.

Cardinals are my favorite little backyard birds! What a picture that would have been of your cherry tree! We usually have one or two cardinals mates who visit the feeders and holly trees in our yard each year. I love how many of the birds take their turns at the feeders.
