We had a cookout here yesterday with all the family and Josh as "man of the hour." It was a beautiful day, although a little chilly for some--temp only reaching about 70, but we had the doors open and mostly sat outside. Tracy, Laurie and I all prepared some of Josh's favorite foods and it was a really nice time together. We'll all be together ( Read more... )

Wow...he has my most profound respect and admiration. Young men just like Josh have been the backbone of this country for nearly two and a half centuries, and as a newly minted US Marine, he's already one of my heroes. It seems we are all in good hands, are we not?

I got choked up just reading them. Especially the quote by John Milton.

We've also got two step-grandsons who are in the Navy for about 10 years now, too. Yes, we are in good hands.

Enjoy your time with Josh at Christmas before he goes away. You must be proud of him. I agree with the others - he looks and sounds a good man, and he is one who is taking on a big job of responsibility. I wish him all the best.
