mermaid window . . .

Nov 08, 2011 15:57

Installation is tomorrow morning. Here's a little preview of it standing up on my workbench . . . with and without a flash. Hopefully tomorrow morning I'll get some better pictures with proper backlighting.

I'm so glad I got to see this in person when it was being worked on. It looks great. I like the top pic better because it's bluer and brighter. Hehe, I thought it wa because the little fish were Molly fish.

I always like it when someone sees the work in progress, and can see some of the steps taken to the finished window, too. You saw it at kind of an ugly stage, when I just started soldering, and it was probably hard to visualize beyond that point.

Yeah, I think I'll tell her tomorrow that those are little Molly fish! She'll like that.

Looks great! The clear glass looks so much like water! Is it called water glass? Looking forward to some closeup photos of details when you get her hung.

Yes, it is called waterglass, for just that reason. Spectrum is the only company that makes that kind. I hope I can get some good photos tomorrow.

That is so beautiful. I just love it. And it brings to mind a window I have that is that very shape and nearly (it looks like) that size. Oh if you were only closer. I'd so love to commission a piece for it.

Thanks, Susan! I've seen the pictures of your apartment and decor, and your tastes are unique and exceptional. I wish we lived closer, too ~~ I'd love to do a window for you . . . I think you'd really let me "cut loose" in design and glasses!

I would totally let you cut loose! I'm serious and am thinking about possible ways to make it possible. I'm going to measure and take pictures and outline my thoughts and send it to you and maybe we can figure out a way to do it.
