I'm glad to see you getting out again to the park again. Do you ever see the ducks there anymore? I can't remember which one got killed, Wattles or WooWoo? Do you see the other one anymore?
It really felt good to get out and go down there again.
Waddles and WooWoo are gone. WooWoo was the one that got killed (the male) and Waddles stayed around the pond for several weeks, coming and going, and then just disappeared.
There have been several other ducks (all different breeds) that have come for a short stay, but they have all been real skiddish and would never come close to you like W & W.
Ah, that's so nice. I do like the shefflera and candle bush plants. Looks like the candle bush is a type of cassia? I'll have to look those up but they are typically host plants for sulphur butterflies.
Candlebush or Secret Flower. Yes, it is a Cassia alata.
In my plant book it says, "the buds open slowly, a few at a time, starting at the base. They have a long blooming season and can become up to 12 feet high with many clusters of flowers.
Candlebush is one of the oldest sources of American medicine, providing cures since the Aztecs."
Sulphur butterflies--are those the little yellow ones? If so, there's lots of them down there all the time.
I know what you mean about not having to cook meals - being let off the regimen must be heaven!
The schefflera - we call them rubber plants, and some people call them pests. I had some flowering here, and the rainbow lorrikeets used to come to them. I could see them from my kitchen window. My then partner insisted on cutting them down, though :(

And I love the reflection one, too.
