Jul 31, 2008 15:05

Well, I finally got to see my spoonbills -- over 20 of them! I never imagined I'd see so many at one time. Priscilla and I ventured to Robinson Preserve this morning for the first time. Here's one picture from our adventure. There's a story and more pictures to come -- hopefully tomorrow.

I know! I love your description.
Many think they are looking a flamingos because of the pink color. Flamingos have much longer necks, stand much taller, and of course, the shape of the beak is a dead giveaway.

Sorry I haven't been responding. I haven't felt well and with my friends driving me nuts I haven't felt like keeping up too well with everyone. But I've seen all your beautiful pictures of all the birds and have really been enjoying them. I loved the cute ducks. And the storkes flying were so beautiful. I love roseate spoonbills too. It's funny how many people think they are flamingos just because they are pink.

EDIT: I just saw your other responses. Lol, yeah that's what I mean.
