Birthday Resolutions

Feb 19, 2011 07:28

I totally know why I don't make New Year's Resolutions.... I have a February Birthday.

I make birthday resolutions... here we go:
-Get back to the yoga. (I feel so good on so many levels when I do it.)
-Eat less meat. (I can more or less take or leave it as long as my Mom's not making seafood and my husband hasn't recently hunted!)
-Spend more time ( Read more... )

birthday, soap, chickens, cooking, family, herbs, bake, homeschool, yoga, elliptical

Did you ever figure out what you were doing for chickens? I asked Ray about them and he seemed fine with it. He mentioned that anytime they have gotten chickens quite a few don't live more than a few months...he thought that out of 25 you might end up with 10 live chickens.

I am going with a different place that Kate recommended. Berg's Hatchery. If you wanted to order we could have them all shipped to my place.

Last time mom and I did chickens someone told us that so we ordered more, and they all lived. Not banking on that one again... Thanks anyways Ray. :) It might be different if we weren't building a movable chicken coop, but we are so we need to be able to calculate out square footage per chicken and 25 chickens is too many. The breed I am ordering also is very hardy so they say you don't lose many (as opposed to more docile breeds that are not as hardy). They will also not be sexed, so we will have fewer anyways because Neil is anti-rooster.

My biggest concern now is a run because our dog catches and eats ducks and geese. So, not sure about the free range thing....

And on second look, their website is updated for 2011, and the Brahmas I was so excited about are no longer listed under Specialty birds....

KATE! HELP!

What do I pick now???
